The A483. THE main dual carriageway through Wrexham is set to undergo major changes, including the resurfacing of a “deteriorating” section of road. The North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency has outlined a number of projects designed to deliver improvements to the A483. Work could start as early as March this year to relay the surface of the road between junction six at Gresford up to the Wales-England border at Pulford. The concrete carriageway was originally built in the late 1980s and has been relaid since, but is said to be in need of significant repairs. In a report to councillors detailing the works, Wrexham Council’s deputy leader David A Bithell said: “The condition of the surface course is deteriorating and works are required to remove this layer, repair and stabilise the concrete structure below and lay a new bituminous surface course.
THE level 4 restrictions will be devastating for businesses that have struggled through the pandemic, a business leader has said. The Leader previously reported that Wales will be facing level 4 restrictions as the coronavirus risk rises to very high . This means all non-essential retail, including close contact services and all leisure and fitness centres will close at the end of trading on Christmas Eve. All hospitality premises will close from 6pm on Christmas Day and tighter restrictions on household mixing, staying-at-home, holiday accommodation and travel will apply from December 28, after the five-day Christmas period. Businesses have already faced much torment and uncertainty over the course of the pandemic.
