SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – Seven families have been displaced after a fire tore through an apartment building on Wednesday evening.
Sioux Lookout OPP, Sioux Lookout Fire Department and North West Emergency Medical Services responded to a fire around 6 p.m. at a seven-unit building on Prince Street.
According to a release, all tenants of the building made it to safety and the fire did not spread to neighbouring properties.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(DRYDEN, ON) – On May 5, 2021 at approximately 6:38 am officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Machin Volunteer Fire Department and Northwest Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, Mutrie Township (west of Dryden).
The investigation revealed two commercial motor vehicles collided, blocking Highway 17. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.
As a result of the investigation a 27 year old Winnipeg man has been charged with Unsafe Move Lane or Shoulder.

One person has been charged after a crash that resulted in the closure of Highway 17 this morning.
Around 6:38 a.m. Dryden OPP, Machin Volunteer Fire Department, and Northwest Emergency Medical Services responded to a motor vehicle collision east of Vermillion Bay.
Police say two tractor-trailer units collided, completely blocking and closing the Trans Canada Highway.
As a result of the investigation, Police have charged 27-year-old Tejinder Singh of Winnipeg with making an unsafe lane or shoulder move.

This morning’s closure of Highway 17 after a collision involving two tractor-trailer units has led to charges to one of the drivers.
Officers with the Dryden OPP say they responded to the collision shortly before 7 a.m. along with the Machin Volunteer Fire Department and Northwest Emergency Medical Services on Highway 17, west of Dryden.
The highway had to be closed due to the debris spread throughout both lanes of the highway and reopened a few hours afterwards. No injuries were reported.
