BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â A Tehachapi man was arrested on charges of sexual assault against a child after DNA linked him to the crime 14 years later.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, 44-year-old Paul Strategos was arrested Wednesday for a 2007 sexual assault of a 6-year-old child. BPD said they were able to link Strategos to the crime after he was arrested in 2020 for being a felon in possession of ammunition and DNA was taken from him.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â As the community mourns the death of a woman, murdered by her husband John Gardner, 64, documents have recently been released detailing the night their bodies were found, and a bit of the events leading up to it.
On Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, Gardner was arrested for the murder of his wife Jane Gardner, 58, found killed inside their Northwest Bakersfield home.
On Dec. 6, 2020, just before 5 a.m. Bakersfield Police Officers responded to a residence in which the fire department was already responding following reports of a male needing help.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â Court documents detailing a deadly crash that killed three people shows the driver, who is facing charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence, was driving over the speed limit.
A probable cause declaration shows Adam Teasdale was allegedly driving about 10 miles over the posted speed limit before a deadly crash on New Year s Eve in Northwest Bakersfield that killed three people.
Documents show that Teasdale was driving eastbound on Brimhall Road off Jewetta Avenue when he swerved to the left for no apparent reason, and traveled over the raised concrete median and collided with a tree.
