The body of Wasique Hasan, age 21, of Easthampton, Massachusetts, was discovered in Hampshire County Friday, May 21, by a boater in Hadley, said the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. No foul play is suspected. Hasan, who attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, had been reported missing by his family on Wednesday, Dec. 30, and his name was then entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person. Meanwhile, investigators said a woman kayaking in the Connecticut River around noon Wednesday, May 26, spotted a body along the shoreline off River Drive in Hadley.

Motorcyclist injured in Leverett crash Staff Report Published: 5/24/2021 1:08:35 PM LEVERETT A 46-year-old Agawam man is being treated at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash on Cave Hill Road at around 5 p.m. Sunday. According to a press release from the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, the motorcycle the man was riding on the road, which passes by the entrance to the New England Peace Pagoda, went about 20 feet off the road into a soft shoulder. Officers with the Leverett Police Department performed CPR on the man prior to his transport by ambulance to the hospital.
