COPPERAS COVE â Mayor Bradi Diaz cut the ribbon Wednesday on a new, nearly complete sidewalk project that will traverse 1.7 miles of The Narrows Business and Technology Park.
Although final watering by the contractor and acceptance by the Texas Department of Transportation remain, the project will be complete well ahead of schedule.
Choice Builders, based out of Temple, began the project on Sept. 14, 2020, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 13, 2021.
City Manager Ryan Haverlah said the project was part of a bigger plan and relates to the Business Highway 190 Improvement Project.
âItâs the start of actually connecting our city so that we can walk and bike the entire city length eventually,â Haverlah told a group of around two dozen supporters Wednesday.

If you re headed northwest from San Antonio this weekend, you may hit detour signs along the way.
A large chunk of I-10 will be closed in Boerne by the Department of Transportation starting on Friday, April 30, at 9 p.m.
Constructions crews will be demolishing the Business Highway 87/Main Street overpass, causing the interstate to be closed completely for 56 hours until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 3.
According to a news alert from the City of Boerne, drivers headed westbound on I-10 (toward Kerrville) will have to exit at Main Street and stay on the access road and reenter before Highway 46. Drivers heading eastbound (toward San Antonio) will have to exit at a temporary exit ramp just past Highway 46 and will not be able to re-enter I-10 until they reach the on-ramp past Scenic Loop Road.

Plans for a new location for Kwik Star in Toledo were submitted to the city of Toledo at Monday’s council meeting. The new location will be just to the east and south of the current location which is the where Thys Chevrolet was located.

Plans for future relocation of one of Toledo’s major convenience stores recently took steps forward.
Kwik Trip, Inc., owners of the Kwik Star gas station and convenience store on Business Highway 30 in Toledo submitted a site plan review to the city of Toledo for a proposed new location to be constructed at 1002 South County Road, the former location of Thys Chevrolet auto dealership.
