CARES Act Grant Funds are Available for Small Businesses Impacted by the Pandemic

The City of San Angelo and Tom Green County are each providing funding to the San Angelo CARES Small Business Grant Program from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES). The City designated $750,000 from CARES funding; Tom Green County designated $100,000.

Senator Marc Pacheco has announced a new round of grant funding for small businesses impacted by covid-19.
In Wareham, five businesses received grants: Kaleidoscope of Dance and Gymnastics received $70,000, E.L. Morse Lumber received $75,000, artist and jewelry-maker Jasmine Keane received $10,000 and Beaver Dam Partners, the publisher of Wareham, Dartmouth, and Sippican Week newspapers, received $75,000.
Over $1.2 million in funding was dispersed in this round of grants to businesses across the 1st Plymouth and Bristol District, which includes Marion, Bridgewater, Carver, Middleborough, Raynham, Taunton and Wareham. Rochester and Mattapoisett are part of the 1st and 2nd Bristol and Plymouth districts, respectively.
What a difference a day makes? Governor Charlie Baker announced during his daily briefing today (Thursday) that beginning Monday (Jan.25) the Stay-at-Home advisory, asking state residents to not be out from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., will be lifted.
During the briefing today, Baker said that things are getting better in Massachusetts.
Today, three weeks in 2021, our public health data is trending in a better direction for some categories, like hospitalizations and the percent of COVID cases for the first time in a long time.
The Governor shared the latest data. Here is a recap of what he said:
Hospitalizations are down by 10 percent since they peaked in early January. Today we have 2,209 individuals in the hospital, which is down from 2,428 on January 4th.
