The smart service, available on dnd.ded.ae, will allow consumers to stop receiving annoying calls
The Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) Sector in Dubai Economy has launched a smart service for the public to protect them from random promotional calls.
The service, available on the portal dnd.ded.ae, will allow consumers to report annoying calls from businesses and marketing teams promoting their products and services.
Consumers can submit their complaints on unsolicited calls online in a few simple steps and the CCCP team will take prompt action to alert callers and get the consumer’s contact number removed from their database. Dubai Economy reminded businesses in Dubai on the need to respect the privacy of consumers and go by their preferences on receiving promotional communication.
Dubai clarifies rules surrounding dining outdoors in Ramadan
Dining outdoors in Ramadan is not permitted…
Ramadan is a little different this year since Dubai authorities removed the need for restaurants to apply for permits to serve food during Ramadan fasting hours. With this, Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED) also withdrew the requirement to place screens and curtains over mall courts and restaurants.
This announcement raised questions around whether non-muslims can now eat and drink outdoors as normal. However, Dubai authorities have clarified to
Gulf News that this is not the case.
“Outdoor seating is not allowed during fasting hours. Delivery of food can be continued as usual,” said Mohammed Ali Rashed Lootah, CEO of the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy.
There are restaurants that serve food along the beaches and on terraces. Additionally, many restaurants have outside seating. Questions were raised if these restaurants are allowed to serve food outside their walled premises out in the open during fasting hours in Ramadan.
Senior officials at Dubai Economy and Dubai Municipality have clarified to Gulf News that outdoor dining at eateries continue to be banned during fasting hours in Ramadan. “Outdoor seating is not allowed during fasting hours.
