CVSA tells inspectors not to slow down COVID vaccine shipments for inspections A bulletin issued Friday, Jan. 8, by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance advises inspectors to not hold up trucks for inspection that are transporting the COVID-19 vaccine. “The COVID-19 vaccine is temperature sensitive,” the bulletin says. “Every effort should be made to get the vaccine to its destination. Shipments should not be held up for an inspection, unless there is an obvious serious violations that is an imminent hazard.” The notice adds that the vaccine is kept cold using dry ice, which can be hazardous to inspectors and first responders.

2020 Roadcheck Results Have An Out-Of-Service Rate of 20% | Go By Truck Global News

More than 50,000 North American Standard Level I, II, III and V Inspections were conducted throughout Canada, Mexico and the U.S. during the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s three-day International Roadcheck commercial motor vehicle and driver inspection and enforcement initiative. The overall vehicle out-of-service rate in North America, for Level I, II and V Inspections combined, was 20.9%. This year’s International Roadcheck took place Sept. 9-11, 2020. It was originally scheduled for May 5-7, 2020, but was postponed to September due to the coronavirus pandemic. Law enforcement personnel conducted inspections following their departments’ health and safety protocols in order to protect inspectors and the drivers with whom they came into contact.
