Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther’s office secured $7,000 that went toward the Rolling V bus’ remodel. That included installing electric and internet access hookups, and adjusting the bus’ seating to provide space for new desks and for social distancing. This is a creative short-term solution to help our children meet the new demands of schooling while we continue to push for a more robust broadband infrastructure in the county, Gunther said in a statement.
The Forestburgh Democrat worked with the South Fallsburg-based bus company, Sullivan BOCES and the nonprofit Sullivan 180 on the idea that was first broached last spring, when schools shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
