Share Dorothy “Dot” Dunlap (Webb) Quimby WATERVILLE – Dorothy “Dot” Dunlap (Webb) Quimby, 91, finished the final chapter of her life well-lived on April 5, 2021, at Woodlands Senior Living in Waterville. Dot was born on Sept. 1, 1929 in Portland to Philip Raymond and Genevieve (Dunlap) Webb. She and her family moved to Ocean Park in 1937, where Dot attended Old Orchard Beach High School and graduated Valedictorian of the class of 1947. She went on to graduate Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bates College, where she served as class secretary from 1953 until her death.

Virtual 2021 Kenney Awards to be celebrated March 26 Event hosted by the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce. Share The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards, the Kenney Awards, will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 26. To ensure the community and the deserving winners and finalists can be celebrated safely, the 2021 Kenney Awards, presented by Kennebec Savings Bank, will be held virtually. Tickets for the event are on sale on the Kennebec Valley Chamber’s website, according to a news release from the chamber based in Augusta. The Kenney, named for the region it hails from, is awarded annually to area businesses and professionals that are deserving of the community’s attention and recognition. The Kenney’s will recognize six awardees, with three of the awards being determined by live voting at the event.

COVID-19 outbreak at Woodlands Senior Living in Farmington

FARMINGTON An outbreak of COVID-19 has been reported at Woodlands Senior Living. “Maine CDC opened an outbreak investigation at Woodlands Senior Living in Farmington on Jan. 1,” Robert Long Maine with Maine CDC wrote in an email Tuesday, Jan. 5. “The initial outbreak investigation involved cases among four residents and one staff member. Maine CDC’s outbreak investigation team is working directly with administrators at the facility, who could provide current case numbers for residents and staff.” Several attempts to reach Woodlands owner Matthew Walters were unsuccessful. Chris Hollingsworth, whose mother is a patient in the Memory Care center at Woodlands shared a letter Wednesday sent Monday by the facility.
