There is danger in entertaining the idea that what we saw play out in that courtroom was some pivotal moment in U.S. history in which law enforcement was suddenly overcome with such a depth of human emotion triggered by this lone event that it opened up a wellspring within their hearts, initiating a collective “come to Jesus” moment.
