The problems in Australia’s aged care system highlighted in the Royal Commission’s final report have been evident to authorities for some time and are “endemic” within the system, according to Aged Care Reform Now’s Anna Willis.
“I think this is a beginning, not the end unfortunately in terms of the grass roots movement,” she said.
“I would say things have got worse, in terms of the training of staff, in terms of their quality of staff, in terms of their staff being supported.
“There’s a systems issue and there’s also an issue with respect to priorities on how we assist people in aged care.
