Romney, a longtime target of former President Donald Trump and his most ardent GOP supporters, remarked Monday that expelling Liz Cheney from leadership won t gain the GOP one additional voter, but it will cost us quite a few. The former 2012 GOP presidential nominee rebuked the recent public remarks of the top two House GOP lawmakers, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise. Both GOP leaders last week endorsed the challenging bid of New York Republican Elise Stefanik to take over Cheney s third-position party role as House Republican Conference chair.

Republicans are set to remove Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney from her leadership role because of her refusal to spread President Trump’s big lie that the election was stolen. These inarguably more conservative than Elise Stefanik poised to replace her. It seems to be about whether or not she’s willing to spread the lie about the election. What’s your take on all this?”
