(Riverton, WY) â As of Tuesday, December 29th only 2 active cases of COVID-19 at the Wyoming Honor Farm have been reported, according to the latest Wyoming Department of Corrections update. This number includes 1 staff member and 1 inmate at the facility.
In total, the number of confirmed positive COVID cases totals 42 within all DOC facilities -this includes the Honor Farm. Those cases were identified in routine surveillance samplings conducted last week, the release noted.

There are 16 confirmed cases within the Wyoming Medium Correction Institution in Torrington. The majority of cases, 13, are reported among staff members, and only 3 in the inmate population.

UPDATE: The WDOC issued a correction on Tuesday afternoon. They had originally reported 21 staff and 3 inmates positive for COVID-19 at the Wyoming State Penitentiary. The WDOC corrected that information to report 3 staff and 21 inmates positive. This story has been updated to reflect the correction.
CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Department of Corrections said on Tuesday, Dec. 29 that routine surveillance sampling of inmates and correctional staff in Wyoming in the last week revealed 42 new positive cases of COVID-19.
