American CryptoFed DAO
The headline this week is that American CryptoFed was the first legally recognized Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) in Wyoming and the nation. Earlier this year the Wyoming Legislature passed a Bill which offers legal protections to DAO s with the hopes that it would trigger blockchain businesses in the state. Marion Orr, CEO of American CryptoFed which is part of the digital currency effort, explained the concept to Wyoming Public Radio s Bob Beck.

Smoke coming from the Robertson Draw Fire Tuesday, June 15th.
The afternoon of Sunday, June 13, was a normal one for Red Lodge, Montana s Fire Chief Tom Kuntz until he got a phone call. The call came in for smoke in the area of the Robertson draw, he recalled.
The Robertson Draw is along the Montana and Wyoming border. In his 30-year career of fighting fires, Kuntz said he had never seen a large wildland fire in the beginning of June. Our expectation was that this would be a fire that could be extinguished with a few engines and some people, he said.

The University of Wyoming (UW) is embarking on five projects designed to improve the state. It s part of what is being referred to as the Grand Challenges initiative. The idea is for the projects to provide either solutions for a problem facing Wyoming or find a way to improve the state. The five projects include rural health care access, developing next-generation, secure, digital platforms that promote sustainable energy, production, transportation and consumption.
They will also be looking at revamping research on campus, along with trying to find ways to bring Wyoming s wildlife and natural beauty to the world. Scott Henkel, the UW Excellence Chair in the Humanities, will chair a group that is developing a democracy laboratory. He explained the motivation to Wyoming Public Radio s Bob Beck.
