Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcolm Noonan, TD, today announced that 85 heritage projects right across the country will benefit from a total of â¬3 million under this yearâs Historic Structures Fund.Â
Deputy Michael Lowry has welcomed the announcement that â¬150,000 has been made available under this yearâs Historic Structures Fund for four heritage projects in County Tipperary:

Courthouse in Tipperary Town and
OâSheaâs on Burke Street in Fethard, who will each receive â¬50,000 in funding.
DW Parke at 23 Gladstone Street in Clonmel will receive â¬40,000 under the Historic Shopfront Stream and the

€200,000 has been allocated for conservation works at five local heritage projects.
A total of three million Euro in funding has been handed out under the Historic Structures Fund by the Department of Heritage.
Grants of €50,000 have been allocated to Tipperary County Council for works at the Courthouse in Tipp Town and O’Shea’s on Burke Street, Fethard.
€50,000 has also been given to Offaly County Council for works at Emmell Castle just outside Cloughjordan.
Under a separate ‘Shopfront stream’ of funding, €40,000 is being allocated for conservation at DW Parke’s on Gladstone Street, Clonmel.
€10,000 has been announced for works at a farm house at Peahill, Ballylooby under the ‘Vernacular stream’.

Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform; Malcolm Noonan has announced funding for this year’s Historic Structures Fund and the good news is that three Kilkenny city projects are included in the allocation.
Rothe House is to receive €50,000, Shee Alms House on Rose Inn Street is to receive €150,000 over two years and Tynan’s Bridge House Bar is to receive €15,000 under a new element of the fund for heritage shopfronts.
Rose Cottage in Johnswell is also a recipient of €10,000 to repair the corrugated roof structure. Shankill Castle received €50,000, The Heritage Council €42,500 and Kells House €37,000.

24 projects across Offaly received a total of € 94,800 under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2021.
The BHIS is one of two built heritage funding schemes run by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in association with 31 local authorities. Through grants of up to €15,000, the BHIS assists owners of heritage structures – including those on the local authorities’ Record of Protected Structures and those in Architectural Conservation Areas – to meet their obligations to care for their properties. The scheme is not limited to private dwellings and also provides assistance to a wide range of other important heritage structures including an early concrete bridge in Birr.
Built Heritage funding received to revamp historic Dundalk bar

The Century Bar is among the historic buildings in the county to receive funding as part of the Built Heritage Investment Scheme.
Funding of €94,800 has been granted for 10 heritage projects in Louth under this year’s Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS).
The Century bar on Roden Place in town was granted €15,000 funding for roof repair, structures and coverings including leadwork.
Other buildings that received funding include Bellews Castle, which was granted €10,000, Tudor Lodge in Ardee, Co. Louth €5,715, Mooremount Thatch in Dunleer €12,420, 2 Ardee Terrace, Dundalk €1,375.
Fianna Fáil Senator for Louth, Erin McGreehan, welcomed the funding, saying: “I am delighted that these buildings have been awarded this funding.
