Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The current Rochester School District Superintendent issued a statement today concerning his decision to step down this summer.
The Rochester School Board late Tuesday night voted to accept the resignation of Superintendent Michael Munoz, effective June 30th. The announcement followed allegations of plagiarism involving speeches and writings that resulted in a petition signed by over 1000 people calling for his resignation.
In his statement, which was included in a message sent out to the families of Rochester School District the students, Munoz apologized for making choices that have set a poor example for our students and for creating a distraction from the school system s mission. Century Farm Applications Due March 1, 2021
If your family has owned your farm for at least 100 years according to authentic land records you are invited to apply for the Century Farm designation sponsored by the Minnesota State Fair and Minnesota Farm Bureau. The farm must be at least 50 acres in size and have been in continuous family ownership for at least 100 years. The Century Farm program was begun i 1976 to promote agriculture and honor historic family farms in Minnesota. More than 10,500 farms have been honored since the program began.
Applications are available on the Minnesota State Fair website: mnstatefair.org/about-the-fair/awards-and-recgnition/. Century Farms will receive a certificate signed by Minnesota State Fair Board President Ron Oleheister, Governor Tim Walz and Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation President Kevin Paap, along with an outdoor sign signifying Century Farm status. Registration is now open for Farmamerica s Beyond the Barn Farm Camp. This is a camp for adventurous kids entering 3rd-6th grade. While it is still winter and it is going to be really cold this weekend it is nice to think about and look forward warmer weather! While at Farmamerica, your camper can expect to take part in a variety of agricultural activities like caring for farm animals, hands-on STEM experiments, and planting their own pumpkins for harvest in the fall, all while enjoying the open air and outdoors.
