Good evening. I’m Senator Tim Scott from the great state of South Carolina.
We just heard President Biden’s first address to Congress.
Our President seems like a good man. His speech was full of good words.
But President Biden promised you a specific kind of leadership.
He promised to unite a nation. To lower the temperature. To govern for all Americans, no matter how we voted.
That was the pitch. You just heard it again.
But our nation is starving for more than empty platitudes.
We need policies and progress that bring us closer together.

Strong families and hard work have formed the foundation for healthy development, meaningful relationships, and economic well-being ever since America’s inception. Now President Joseph Biden has a new vision: one in which progressive politicians and government bureaucrats sit at the helm of American families, financed through $1.8 trillion in new taxpayer spending.
Through unprecedented new federal education spending, new universal preschool and government child care programs, paid family leave, and new health care and welfare spending, the Biden Administration would significantly grow federal intervention in and control of some of the most personal aspects of family life. But by displacing the need for and value of things that families do to support one another, the President’s American Families PlanREF will do more to break down than to build up the infrastructure of American families, leaving them with fewer opportunities and less control over their circums

Terron Armstead was spotted on the sidelines at the 2021 SWAC Championship game, supporting his alma mater, the University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Before the Pro-Bowl left tackle was drafted by New Orleans and served as protector of Saints quarterbacks Drew Brees, Teddy Bridgewater, Taysom Hill, and Jameis Winston, Armstead made a name for himself at UAPB.
Armstead is one of the top NFL players from an HBCU program. ESPN s Jay Walker, announcing the contest with Tiffany Greene, ranked Armstead second behind Colts star linebacker Darrius Leonard. Terron took minor offense with Walker and told him that he s been in the league longer and at a high level should have him ranked at #1 on Walker s list.

President Biden released the provisions of his American Family Plan last week, and just like with his American Jobs Plan, the details are scant and the price tag is high.
Even given the limited details, the plans ought to give everyone pause and by “everyone” I don’t just mean conservatives who oppose massive welfare state expansions, but also those who agree with the objective of an increase in the social insurance system in America. There are some serious flaws worth looking at, even with the few details we have of the plan.
Proposal 1: Free Daycare
Biden splits out his childcare proposals into two pieces, “free preschool” and “affordable childcare.” The proposal claims families will be able to “choose the settings that work best for them,” but the proposal is very specific about what this program will look like, with teachers with “job-embedded coaching, professional development, and wages that reflect the importance of their work.”
