Taylor Jr., alumnus and member of the University of Miami Board of Trustees, an interactive display will spotlight the impact of the University’s Black students from the past, through the decades, and beyond. Throughout his career, Johnny C. Taylor Jr. has sought to improve and mobilize social and economic change in the workplace and bring equity to employees at every level. It’s a passion that has driven him since he graduated from the University of Miami. 

Miles College adds to growing partnerships, this one with UBS Bank

The Fairfield institution will be beneficiary of a partnership with multinational investment bank UBS that will focus on delivering a financial literacy and wellness curriculum, the latest in a collaboration that Miles has with a number of global brands. UBS is partnering with the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) to offer its Tomorrow’s Talent Program curriculum at SIAC’s 14 colleges and universities across six states. Those include Miles and Tuskegee, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), in Alabama. For Miles, that partnership adds to several others announced in recent months that include ones with Goldman Sachs, Apple and IBM.

After earning his PhD at Purdue, Dean Reed served on the faculty and in the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. In recognition of Black History Month, Purdue Veterinary Medicine is highlighting the career of a college leader who also has served in national leadership positions, always with a passion for enhancing the diversity of the veterinary profession our very own Dean Willie Reed. Since earning his DVM degree at Tuskegee University, he has persistently pursued his dream of becoming a veterinarian while expanding opportunities for others from diverse backgrounds to do the same.  Born in Mobile, Ala., Dean Reed spent his childhood in a nearby small town. Living in a rural community, Dean Reed grew up around many animals.  He also excelled in science classes, which helped foster his interest in studying veterinary medicine. His commitment to the field solidified when his high school vocational agriculture teacher said veterinary medicine would be a good fit for him. However
