Downing-USA TODAY Sports Originally posted on Pro Hockey Rumors  |  By Brian La Rose  |  Last updated 5/23/21 Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri has decided to appeal the eight-game suspension that he received earlier this week for an illegal hit on St. Louis defenseman Justin Faulk, reports Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman (Twitter link).  He has already served the first two games (the second of which was Sunday) so the process will need to move fairly quickly for him to have a chance of having any games shaved off.

James Krause says the UFC matchmakers twice declined his offer to fight Joaquin Buckley, and he thinks the matchup’s “dead in the water” now. Krause and Buckley have had tension for quite a while now due to previous issues at gyms in the Kansas City area, and both men have expressed interest in potentially fighting each other for several months. Calls for the fight became especially loud after Buckley knocked out Impa Kasanganay last fall with an insane head kick. However, the UFC did not book the fight between Buckley and Krause, instead choosing to match up Buckley with other opponents such as Jordan Wright and Alessio Di Chirico in an effort to build him into a contender at middleweight. Those efforts shot up into flames when Buckley himself was the victim of a brutal KO by di Chirico.

My coach said March, but I’m feeling April,” Neal said of when he wants to return. “The only (fight) that really makes sense at this point — cause I don’t want to fight Neil (Magny) off a loss, you know what I mean, I mean I guess it’s possible — but it’s probably going to be Li (Jingliang).” Magny is actually ranked one spot ahead of Neal at No. 10, but he is coming off of a lopsided decision loss to Michael Chiesa so his stock is down at the moment. Jingliang, on the other hand, is coming off of a crazy upset KO win over Ponzinibbio in his last fight. Both Neal and Jingliang are also two heavy-handed strikers and a matchup between them would be a lot of fun for the fans. Neal wants it, and you’d have to imagine Jingliang would too, so now let’s see if the UFC likes the fight.
