Eastern Cape taxpayers have in the past financial year forked out nearly R150,000 for just two laptops purchased for premier Oscar Mabuyane’s office. One of these gadgets was bought for R77,300, while another set back the provincial taxpayer an amount of R72,300. The two Apple Macbook laptops form part of the six laptops purchased by Mabuyane’s office in the 2020/21 financial year at a combined value of R236,000, the Bhisho legislature was told recently.
