Liberty Volleyball to Host VCU in Season Opener at Liberty Arena, Friday

Liberty opens its 2021 spring season in the brand-new Liberty Arena, hosting VCU on Friday at 10 a.m. The Lady Flames posted a 21-12 record during the 2019 season and made their first postseason appearance since 2012, advancing to the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC). VCU went 24-7 in 2019, including a perfect 14-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams received an automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division I Women s Volleyball Championship before falling to Cincinnati in four sets in the first round. 2021 Spring Sports Admissions/Tickets Due to COVID-19 and state regulations, capacity at all Liberty Athletics events is under a limited capacity of 250 patrons or 30 percent capacity, whichever is less based on social distancing protocols, per Virginia Governor Ralph Northam s current Phase 3 guidelines. Va governor livid after Trump administration denies reimbursement for riot reinforcements

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied a request from Maryland and Virginia to help cover costs associated with the Capitol riot and inauguration, according to the Washington Post. And this decision has left Virginia Governor Ralph Northam pretty livid. Northam said that Trump is the one responsible for inciting the "terrorism" on the Capitol on January 6, and now his administration has denied the state's support in efforts to stop.

LamTech plans $4 million expansion in Virginia

(LamTech), one of the largest privately held custom laminators in the United States, will invest $4 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Henry County, Virginia. The company will install a new automated hardwood plywood press line to increase capacity and production to serve its East Coast market. The expansion will create 42 jobs in the area. Headquartered in Tiffin, Ohio, Laminate Technologies produces laminated panel products, fabricated components, and globally sourced products for the kitchen cabinet, residential furniture, office furniture, and retail display markets. The company has manufacturing facilities in Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia; it opened the Henry County operation in 2012.
