The team at Seattle s Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is embarking on something of an experiment cherry-picking quality-improvement tools from their two merging organizations. The goal is to bring quality levels up across all the hospitals now under the new brand.
The deal merging Virginia Mason and CHI Franciscan is a little over 100 days old, and healthcare players in Washington state and elsewhere are cautiously watching how they integrate operations.

SEATTLE All unvaccinated adults heading to Sounders FC home matches can get immunized against the coronavirus and pick up a free hot dog before they head into the stands, the club announced Thursday. According to the Sounders, the news arrives just as its players and support staff are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As a community, it s essential for as many people as possible [to] get vaccinated, while remaining socially distant and using masks, said Garth Lagerwey, the Sounders general manager. We hope that our players and staff being 100 percent bought into the overall vaccination effort inspires others to do the same.
Seattle Sounders to begin handing out COVID vaccines to fans at home matches

The Seattle Sounders announced Thursday that the team will now be distributing COVID-19 vaccines to fans at home matches free of charge.
Vaccines will be available during matches at Lumen Field starting Sunday, May 2 on a walk-up basis “with no appointments necessary,” operating out of the West Field Plaza outside of section 140 and the East Main Concourse outside of section 104.
This comes on the heels of the team announcing that it has now fully vaccinated its First Team players and support staff against COVID-19, in hopes of motivating fans to follow suit.
