RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - As of May 10, the Virginia Department of Transportation says they have removed more than 7,000 loads of tree debris from interstates and primary roadsides within the Richmond District.
This comes after a high-impact ice storm that occurred on February 13 of this year. According to VDOT, the ice storm generated nearly 500,000 cubic yards of debris within the District, which has a projected cost of $23 million.

VIRGINIA A growing number of gas stations in Virginia are without supplies as residents race to the pumps to fill their tanks in case the gasoline shortage caused by the Colonial Pipeline outage lasts for several more days.
As of early Wednesday afternoon, 42 percent of Virginia s nearly 3,900 stations were without gasoline, up dramatically from 17 percent earlier in the day, according to GasBuddy, which tracks supply. In D.C., about 8 percent of stations are out of gas, according to GasBuddy.

FARMVILLE, Va. (WWBT) - The Piedmont Health District is set to open mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics to help serve rural and underserved areas.
The mobile clinics are in coordination with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and other partners.
“These mobile clinics are designed to reach unvaccinated Virginians at times and places that are closer and more convenient,” said Dr. Sulola Adekoya, acting director of the Piedmont Health District.
