The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is now offering even more convenient online service options for customers during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 50 options are now available online to help customers avoid visiting in-person, and the DMV keeps adding more online options for service, according to a department news release.
Customers can now visit the DMV website to replace their commercial driver’s license (CDL), driver’s license learner’s permit, driver privilege card or learner’s permit, or limited-duration driver’s license, permit or CDL. Online credential replacements are only available to customers age 18-years-old and older.

WEIRTON Weirton Council has scheduled a special session for 6 p.m., Monday, in the council chambers of the Weirton Municipal Building.
The agenda is to include a review of the municipal budget, and the meeting is open to the public.

NEW CUMBERLAND The Hancock County Board of Education will meet in special session at 5 p.m., Monday at the John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center, for a discussion and legal opinion on board agenda items.

Commercial licenses extended
CHARLESTON The West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has announced the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has extended the expirations on some commercial driver’s licenses and commercial learner’s permits because of the pandemic.
CDLs and CLPS that expired on or after March 1, 2020, have been extended to May 31.
The 14-day period for CLP holders to take the skills test has been waived until May 31 while medical examiner’s certificates and medical downgrades that expired on or after Dec. 1 have been extended to that date as well.
