FLINT, MI Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed Flint Water Crisis legislation that could clear the way for over $600 million to be distributed to Flint residents included in a settlement reached in August.
Whitmer signed Senate Bills 1251 and 1252, creating the Flint Settlement Trust Fund within the Michigan Department of Treasury, and amending the Michigan Strategic Fund Act to address the funding of the $641.2 million settlement in the civil Flint Water cases.

The nation was deep in crisis, the White House was about to switch parties, and the outgoing president was focused on the potential for chaos.
There was to be none of it.
With the economy free-falling in late 2008, George W. Bush instructed members of his administration to go out of their way to make the transition to Barack Obamaâs presidency as smooth as possible. Bush himself ultimately made the biggest concession in that regard, infuriating many fellow Republicans by authorizing a $17.4 billion bailout of General Motors and Chrysler a month before Obama took office.

The planets Jupiter and Saturn have been moving closer and closer to each other in the night sky. In fact, on December 21, they appear closer together than they have in hundreds of years.
When two astronomical bodies appear close in the sky, as seen from Earth, it is called a conjunction. Conjunctions can happen with any two bodies, such as planets, moons, stars and asteroids. When Jupiter and Saturn come together, it is called a “Great Conjunction.”
