According to their website, there are now 572,639 total cases, 451,539 of which are confirmed and 121,100 are probable. There are 8,197 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 7,037 being confirmed and 1,160 being probable. The case numbers are up by 1,657, and deaths are up by 234 since Thursday. A total of 5,854,653 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia. The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Friday, there are 1,240 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 241 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. More than 135 additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). The VHHA reports a total of 46,568 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 46,430 (+138) patients since Thursday s update. Hospitalizations have decreased in Virginia over the last 24 hours. There are currently 1,481 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, down from 1,488 (-7) Thursday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 1,240 (-31) of those patients have COVID-19 while 241 (+24) have tests pending.
