According to their website, there are now 299,388 total cases, 256,999 of which are confirmed and 42,389 are probable. There are 4,598 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,164 being confirmed and 434 being probable. The case numbers are up by 3,295, and deaths are up by 45 since Thursday. A total of 3,831,683 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia. In Hampton Roads, every health district is reporting test percent positivity rates over the state average. The state s average is currently 11.8 percent.

Nearly 250 additional COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Virginia hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). The VHHA reports a total of 27,307 hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been discharged, an increase from 27,060 (+247) patients since Wednesday s update. Hospitalizations have increased in Virginia over the last 24 hours. There are currently 2,399 patients in hospitals who are either positive or whose test results are pending, up from from 2,349 (+50) from Wednesday, according to the VHHA. Officials said 1,989 (-1) of those patients have COVID-19 while 410 (+51) have tests pending.
