Staff Journalist In more than 30 years of caring for animals, a yellow Labrador retriever with a lump on its neck stands out as perhaps the Warrenton veterinarianâs most memorable patient.
âWhen it went to biopsy, we found an inch-and-half sewing needle that was coming out of its skin,â recalled Dr. Constance C. Houk, associate veterinarian with the Animal Care Center in Warrenton. âWhen we pulled it out, it had 18 inches of thread attached to it.â
