A federal judge didn’t hold back in recounting the Trump administration’s sketchy behavior in the case challenging its decision to rush the 2020 census.
U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh, of Northern California, on Tuesday night denied the Justice Department’s request to dismiss the case, which alleges that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross violated administrative law and the Constitution when he truncated the count timeline earlier this year by several months.
Koh also denied the Department’s request to put the case on hold. While explaining her legal rationales for the decisions, Koh’s 56-page opinion ran through the various ways that the administration had acted shadily in the litigation.

Washington [US], December 22 (ANI): In another major setback to China, the US has designated 58 Chinese companies out of 103 companies as foreign entities with military ties thereby restricting export, re-export and transfers with them.
Along with the 58 Chinese companies, the remaining are Russian companies, the US Commerce Department said.
According to a statement from the Commerce Department, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) will amend the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by adding a new Military End User (MEU) List, as well as the first tranche of 103 entities, which includes 58 Chinese and 45 Russian companies.

US exporters will be required to get a licence before they transfer designated items to companies on the blacklist.
The list includes a large number of Chinese aerospace companies as well as Russia s foreign intelligence service.
It is part of a wider push by Donald Trump to maintain pressure on China before he leaves office.
Tensions between Washington and Beijing have grown over the past year on a number of sensitive issues.
President Trump blamed China for the coronavirus pandemic, while his administration has been critical of a new national security law imposed in Hong Kong.
