Workers of the National Identity Management Commission have suspended the industrial action they embarked upon on Thursday over the fear of COVID-19 spread in the agency.
It was gathered that the workers decided to put the strike on hold after a meeting with the Federal Government where it was agreed that the demands of the employees would be addressed.
However, the workers gave the government a 21-day ultimatum to meet their demands.

At least 12 staff have been diagnosed with COVID in recent days, drivers have told the committee. This includes up to 10 bus drivers. Due to the ongoing cover-up by Metroline, aided and abetted by Unite, the full picture is not known.

The National Identity Management Commission officials across the country on Thursday began a strike action over the fear of COVID-19 spread in the agency.
The President of the Association of the Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC unit, Asekokhai Lucky, in an interview with one of our correspondents in Abuja, said already the virus had been detected in three officials of the agency at its headquarters.

The President, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC Unit, Asekokhai Lucky, confirmed the suspension of the strike to our correspondent in Abuja.
He said workers of the commission across the country were being contacted to resume work by Monday and begin the enrolment of citizens for National Identity Numbers.
