Minimum wage: Nasarawa announces no work, no pay as workers begin indefinite strike

Minimum wage: Nasarawa announces ‘no work, no pay’ as workers begin indefinite strike June 15 Advertisement Organised labour in the state had, on Tuesday, commenced an indefinite strike over non-implementation of full payment of the N30,000 national minimum wage, among other issues relating to promotion. In a statement signed by Muhammed Aliyu, secretary to the state government (SSG), the governor also directed permanent secretaries to open attendance registers in all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to ensure effective implementation of the ‘no-work, no-pay’ policy. The statement noted that the state government will challenge the strike action in court, and urged security agencies to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order.
