Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said that Islamic Republic of Iran and Eurasian Economic Union enjoy high capacity to enhance mutual trade by $20 billion.

Hamid Zadboum broke the news on Sunday and said that talks on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Eurasian Economic Union is the first step for $20 billion trade, so that the two sides will start negotiating Preferential Trade Agreement next month.
He reiterated that Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys high capability to enhance its trade with EAEU’s member states.
If capacities of the country in knowledge-based, industrial and agricultural products are added to the existing volume in trade exchanges with EAEU, the capacity of volume of bilateral trade exchanges between the two sides will hit $20 billion.
Commodities worth $174m exported to Oman in 8 months
Iran has exported products worth $174 million to Oman during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-November 20, 2020), according to the data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The IRICA data indicate that steel and related products accounted for over 35 percent of the exports during the mentioned time span.
In January 2020, Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) held the first meeting of its Commodity-Country Desk on trade with Oman presided by Farzad Piltan, the director-general of TPO’s Office of Arabian and African Countries.
The meeting was aimed at investigating the ways for increasing exports of constructional materials to Oman and removing the barriers related to transporting these materials to the Arab country, and was participated by the related state-run and private sector officials including representatives of some exporting and marine trans

TEHRAN, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) Iran and Azerbaijan on Tuesday held talks on the details of a preferential trade agreement (PTA) between the two countries, official IRNA news agency reported.
In this video conference, the representatives of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran and representatives of Azerbaijan s ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs underlined the political will of their leaders to deepen bilateral economic relations, IRNA said.
The initial agreement to hold PTA talks was reached during the Iranian president s visit to Azerbaijan s capital Baku last year.
