A DRUNK woman broke her partner s finger and punched her in the face several times during a brutal attack witnessed by children. Gemma Payne admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm when she appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday. The 25-year-old of Britannia Road, Worcester, barged her way into the woman s home before attacking her during the ugly incident between June 27 and June 28 last year. She was later to tell police she had no recollection of carrying out the attack because she was so drunk. Mark Hambling, prosecuting, said Payne and the woman had been in a relationship since November 2019 but lived at different addresses. Payne had contacted the complainant asking to come around to her home and she refused, believing Payne was drunk. At around 10.45pm Payne arrived at her home, shouting and knocking on the door when two children were in bed at the address.

Jane Myhill was a trusted friend and confidante of Alice Bennett MBE for more than 20 years, working as the bursar for Worcester and Madresfield Early Years Centres where she was well paid for her role. However, the greedy 55-year-old Christian rewarded Mrs Bennett s generosity and loyalty by stealing from her when she was at a low ebb in her life. The grieving founder of the successful nurseries had lost both her parents and had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Police officer spat at after responding to domestic violence incident in Malvern

Emergency services were responding to a call of domestic violence where a knife had been brandished. After the emergency services arrived, Sally Clarke, 32, spat at a police sergeant and was seen to flick blood about. She was charged with beating another police constable and a health care professional while they were trying to do their jobs. Clarke, of Kipling Close, Malvern was also charged with assaulting a man on the same day. It happened on December 27. She pleaded guilty to all charges when she appeared at Magistrates Court a day after the incident. She received a 20 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, on January 18, and also a separate six week sentence, also suspended, for the assault on the man, to run concurrently.
