Two men injured in early morning shooting in Worcester
Both are expected to recover and were in stable condition at midday Friday, according to police.
Officers were called to the shooting scene on Sherman Street about 2:45 a.m. and found a 22-year-old man who had gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
A second man, 26, and also suffering from gunshot wounds, showed up at a city hospital as officers were arriving on Sherman Street, police said in a news release.
One suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and the other was shot several times in the back, officers radioed to the dispatcher.

In the early hours of the new year, Worcester police responded to a double shooting. Two men in their 20s received non-life-threatening injuries from the gunfire.
When police arrived on Sherman Street to respond to the shooting just before 2:48 a.m. they found one of the two victims. He received treatment at the scene and the 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital.
The second victim, a 26-year-old male, arrived shortly after police arrived on the scene. His wounds were consistent with being shot.
Worcester police investigating theft of menorah from Kelley Square

Police in Worcester said a menorah on display at Kelley Square has been located hours after incorrectly tweeting that the menorah was believed to be stolen.
The Kelley Square intersection has been under construction by MassDOT, transforming from a web of streets into a peanut-shaped roundabout. The intersection is also home to a Christmas tree each season.
In a recent Instagram post, Worcester Public Market wrote that the Dec. 12 lighting of the menorah and tree marked the start of the holiday season.
This year, Hanukkah began on Dec. 10 and ends on Dec. 18.
