R60 000 bail for Durban man charged with multiple murders, supplying Cape Town gangs with firearms

iStock The State did not oppose bail during an application at the Worcester Magistrate s Court.    His bail conditions include not leaving the magisterial district of Wentworth.    Durban firearms dealer Anderson Padayachee was granted R60 000 bail as he awaits trial on multiple murder and weapons charges.   He appeared at the Worcester Magistrate s Court on Thursday and was granted bail with conditions.  Padayachee was arrested last Thursday and, at the time, the Hawks alleged he, via his dealership, was linked to an illegal supply of firearms to Cape Town gangs.   The State did not oppose bail on Thursday.  WATCH | National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said Padayachee has to stay at his home address in Durban, and may not leave the Wentworth magisterial district.  

Alleged Worcester meat and Carling thieves cases in court

AN ALLEGED meat thief and a man said to have stolen four cans of lager were among the latest cases heard at Worcester Magistrates Court.  Benjamin Parkinson, 31, from Swallowfields in Worcester, is wanted after failing to appear at Worcester Magistrate s Court on January 21, 2021.  On November 12, 2020 Parkinson allegedly stole four cans of Carling and other items thought to amount to about £10 from Tesco. It is also said that on the same day Parkinson used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, with intent to cause Mohammed Rahmen to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against  him. It was said the offence was also racially aggravated.

Kidderminster man fined over Facebook suicide threats

A round-up of some of the latest cases at Kidderminster Magistrates Court. A MAN from Kidderminster was fined after he harassed a woman by sending her Facebook messages threatening to kill himself. Stephen Bateman, 60, of Avon Road, pleaded guilty to harassment at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, December 10. The court heard how, between December 15 and December 19 last year, Bateman sent the victim Facebook messages, saying he was going to kill himself and that it was her fault. Magistrates fined him £60 and ordered him to pay a £32 victim surcharge plus £135 in court costs. In a case on Wednesday, December 9, a Kidderminster man was given a suspended sentence after he entered Savers in Kidderminster with the intent to steal.
