Suspect in killing of landlord in Barre indicted on murder charge
WORCESTER A 71-year-old Barre man has been indicted on charges related to the shooting death of his landlord on Town Farm Road in September.
Robert Leger of 113 Town Farm Road has been held without bail since Sept. 4, the day of the shooting. Prosecutors believe Leger shot and killed Michael J. Hannon, 65, of the same address. Hannon was Leger s landlord, according to court documents.
Leger s case will move to the jurisdiction of Worcester Superior Court.
He has been indicted by a Worcester County grand jury on charges of murder, possession of a firearm without a firearms identification card, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, failure to secure a firearm, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card, and possession of a rifle or shotgun without a firearms identification card.

The Fitchburg man facing charges in a Worcester Halloween shooting that apparently left a woman partially paralyzed was involved in another shooting just a couple weeks later in Fitchburg, according to court records.
Phillip T. Palmer, 42, is currently in custody after he was arraigned in court in connection with a Nov. 17 shooting in Fitchburg where a home was shot.
Weeks earlier, in Worcester, Palmer fired shots into a Worcester home leaving a woman inside partially paralyzed, investigators said in search warrant affidavits and police statements filed in Worcester District Court.
