Worcestershire Royal Hospital tops list of Worcester s crime hotspots

Worcestershire Royal Hospital WORCESTERSHIRE Royal Hospital has been found to be the city’s crime ‘hotspot’ according to police figures with almost 230 crimes reported in the last 12 months. West Mercia Police crime figures show a total of 227 crimes have been reported at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester between November last year and October – almost 60 more crimes than the city centre’s Angel Street which came in second. Just under half of all the crimes reported at Worcestershire Royal Hospital were violent and sexual offences with 110 recorded throughout the 12 months - the most frequent type of crime recorded. Around 13 per cent of recorded crimes were for anti-social behaviour.

A THUG jailed for beating up, strangling and humiliating his ex during a degrading attack in Worcester is expecting a baby with his new partner. Tim Bird was jailed for three years for the assaults, punching his ex, spitting in her face, pouring water over her, hitting her with flowers, banging her head off a sofa and ripping off her underwear. The attacks happened when Bird of Ransome Avenue, Worcester, returned home drunk in the early hours of the morning on January 11 and February 2 last year. At one stage he told her he was going to slit her throat . In a victim personal statement his ex, who feared she was going to die, said: Tim made my life hell. I wish I never met him.

CORONAVIRUS: One new death in Worcestershire hospitals

THERE has been one new coronavirus related death recorded at Worcestershire s hospitals according to official statistics. The latest NHS England daily figures, released this afternoon (December 21) show there has been one new death recorded in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The total number of deaths at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS trust is at 404, with the number of deaths in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust remaining at 34. In total, there have been 438 Covid-19 deaths in county hospitals. A further 190 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 46,578.

Tim Bird was sent to jail for three years at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday for the violent and degrading attacks on his ex-partner in her home as someone shouted from the public gallery: A paedophile walked out of here last week! The 27-year-old of Ransom Avenue, Worcester, admitted two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on the victim during two separate incidents on January 11 and February 2 last year. Bird was also in breach of a suspended sentence for the production of cannabis (seven months suspended for two years).
