THERE have been 13 new recorded coronavirus related deaths at Worcestershire s hospitals, latest data show. The NHS latest figures (February 4), shows 13 new coronavirus related deaths in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, bringing its total up 690. And there has been one newly recorded deaths at Worcestershire Heath and Care NHS Trust bringing the total to 51. It means the total number of coronavirus related deaths in Worcestershire hospitals is now 740. And in all settings, which include care homes and hospices, there have been 1,083 deaths. Nationally, a further 630 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 74,249.

In England, a further 767 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 72,912. Patients were aged between 23 and 102 years old. All except 31 (aged 23 to 102 years old) had known underlying health conditions. Date of death ranges from December 29, 2020 to February 1, 2021 with the majority being on or after 27 January.

AN ELDERLY man has been struck by a hit-and-run driver suffering serious injuries . Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision, which happened at around 5.30pm on Abbey Road in Malvern on January 27. A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: A man in his seventies was struck by a vehicle and the driver failed to stop. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries to his leg and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he currently remains in a stable condition. Any passers-by, or motorists who had driven down the road around the time of the incident, are urged to come forward.
THERE were no new Covid-19 deaths recorded in Worcestershire s hospitals on the day a 22-year-old was confirmed to have died having contracted the virus. The county’s toll remains at 655 for those who have died while in Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust hospitals and 50 while in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust hospitals. In all settings, which include hospices and care homes, Worcestershire’s total is at least 1,009. There were another 356 new fatalities in England on Monday, February 1, bringing to 72,145 the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England. Patients were aged between 22 and 103 years old. All except 20 – aged 50 to 96 years old – had known underlying health conditions.
