You saved my life - NHS staff thanked year on from first Covid patient in Worcestershire

RESIDENTS have thanked NHS staff for their hard work and dedication one year on from the first Covid patient being admitted to hospital in the county. A post on the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s Facebook page on March 11, said: “One year ago today, we admitted the first patient with Covid-19 to our hospital. “Since that day, we’ve seen more than 3,000 patients with Coronavirus, with the majority discharged home to their families. “But the virus has not gone away and although there are signs of hope, our staff are still working flat out to provide the best care for patients with and without Covid.”

Worcestershire musicians band together to raise money for keyworkers

MUSICIANS from across the county are gearing up for the launch of a new project, Music for the Soul. The project was launched by H-J Colston-Inge, founder of Welfare for Healthcare which raised £10,000 during the March lockdown last year to fund care packages for the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust. Her new project is dedicated primarily as a sign of thanks to keyworkers in the NHS, new music stimulated by the project, will be aired regularly on BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester and published to YouTube. “It became apparent during conversations that NHS staff are suffering from PTSD due to the ongoing and challenging conditions of working under COVID. This sounded just too awful,” said Mrs Colston-Inge “The hospitals are so concerned for their staff and trying to find novel ways to support wellbeing that it made me reflect on what makes me feel good and alive. I realise that it is often music that reaches deep into my soul.
