Everything was shambolic. And chaotic. Tearful and uneventful it was and a match one badly want to forget to remember.
Poor officiation, tempers, teargas and pelting of stones marred the much touted Blantyre derby on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium.
Old derby rivalry refuses to die
The game was tense and dictated by old-rivalry antics with both teams wanting to carry home not only bragging rights of the commercial city, but also honour.
In the end the game end in tears for both as the match finished in a deadlock with both sides netting a goal each.

Ntopwa FC, owned and managed by Osman Jomo, have painted a groomy picture of their trip to the North where they are scheduled to play two games in the TNM Super League this weekend.
The Amaghetto, from the populous Bangwe Township, are expected to play Ekwendeni Hammers and Mzuzu Warriors at the Mzuzu Stadium but Jomo told the media on Thursday that their trip is doubtful due to financial problems.

“We are talking of sourcing up to K1.8 million for the two Mzuzu fixtures and to be honest with you, l don’t even have such kind of money as of today. We will need food, accommodation, fuel and a bus,” Osman said.
The Presidential Taskforce on CoVID-19 has rejected the request for a waiver of the 250 as the number allowed for outdoor activities to increase the number of spectators for the Blantyre derby between Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers scheduled for Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday, May 1.
In her Wednesday situation, the taskforce’s co-chairperson, Health Minister Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda says the figure of 250 still stands as gazetted on of April 23 2021 in the CoVID-19.

On one hand, Manyozo missed their previous game against the cops, the Blue Eagles at Nankhaka ground as he was serving yellow cards, while Nyanguru missed 3 matches against Chitipa, Ntopwa and Blue Eagles.
Nyanguru was attending to his sick mother.
Fortunately, the duo will be available for the Blantyre Derby and coach, Bob Mpinganjira said their presence is a morale booster to the rest of the squad.
Silver Strikers go-getters Maxwell Gasten and Staine Davie lead the chase for the Golden Boot at 9 and 8 goals respectively while the Bankers have extended their lead on the TNM Super League to 6 points at 31.
The Bankers now have a challenger up their sleeve as champions Nyasa Big Bullets at 25 points have dramatically risen from the middle tier to become new runners-up.
The Bullets have also played one less game at 12, with three left to wrap up the first round while Silver have played 13 with two left meaning the Bankers have to win at least one game and draw the other of the remaining two games to lead the first round.
