According to the criminal complaints, shortly before 2 a.m., Friday, Feb. 19, deputies with the Valencia County Sheriffâs Office were dispatched to 298 Meadow Lake Road about a disturbance at the residence, and were told a man was possibly shot in the chest.
When the first deputy arrived, he found a man lying face down on the ramp leading into the house and a second man face down on the floor of the living room. Both were unresponsive and not breathing. The two men were later identified as the Romero brothers, who lived at the house, according to a press release from VCSO.

An Albuquerque man is charged with two open counts of murder in connection with a double homicide in Valencia County in November.
Porfirio Salazar, 34, was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop in Albuquerque on Friday, according to a news release from the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office.
Salazar is charged in the shooting deaths of brothers Erik Verto Rodriguez, 20, and Roque Alejandro Rodriguez, 23, both of Los Lunas. Investigators have identified Salazar as the brothers’ uncle by marriage.
