People across the country have mixed views about whether to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and that s the case in this area, too.
Valerie Meyers, executive director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, said she is hearing strong opinions both for and against vaccination. Community members will come in saying that they re anxious to have things back to normal and that the vaccine is the means to make that happen, she said. I spoke to a vendor who s very interested in participating in an event, but who is firm about not doing so while there is any risk of infection.
The facility s volume is up 25 percent due to 112 remodeled and 20 new stores, as well as more people eating at home during the pandemic, Snavely said.
The site is a full-service distribution center, dealing with everything from dry goods, frozen foods and dairy items to health and beauty aids in both private store label and national brands. A discovery during a father-and-son adventuring trip to Martin s Mill Bridge in Antrim Township on July 29 and a bit of detective work have reunited a Greencastle man with the class ring he lost 45 years ago. Jeremy Knowlton of Heathsville, Va., found John W. Thomas Jr. s ring while metal detecting in the east branch of the Conococheague Creek, as his son, Shrade, splashed in the water nearby.

Thousands of drivers will have to wait an extra two days before resuming their travels on U.S. 11 south of Greencastle. The road, traveled by about 13,000 vehicles a day, was scheduled to reopen Wednesday, Sept. 9, after being closed since Aug. 19 for a bridge replacement project. It is now scheduled to open Friday, Sept. 11.
