In the near future Kirkland Lake Council meetings will even more accessibility for those with physical disabilities.
At its most recent meeting council directed staff to update their corporate zoom account “to allow utilization of the zoom audio transcripts to ensure posted videos to YouTube meet accessibility requirements.”

In a report to council Clerk Meagan Elliot stated “As of January 1, 2021 all public websites and web content posted after January 1, 2012 must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA other than criteria 1.2.4 (live captions) and 1.2.5 (pre-recorded audio descriptions).
