Novacoast plans to open two new Security Operations Centers in the coming months as the cybersecurity-focused solution provider seeks to meet strong growth in demand from customers, according to CEO Paul Anderson.
The Santa Barbara, Calif.-based company which will have a total of six SOCs with the additional centers opening this year is finding fast-growing demand for its managed services offerings, Anderson (pictured) said in an interview with CRN.

Non-profit organization Afro-Tech Girls has said that provision of soft skill capacity building could help girls and women appreciate Information and Communications based careers.
The group made the statement at a conference it held to commemorate the 2021 International Day of Women and Girls in Science themed ‘Women Scientists at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.’
Afro-Tech Girls is focused on encouraging and empowering females in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
The event which was hosted in partnership with IHS Nigeria, a subsidiary of IHS Towers, saw female speakers from the medical, science and technology sectors interact with over 100 participants in attendance online and a further 100 girls from public secondary schools watching from their classrooms. Telesat‘s new Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation, Lightspeed. In return, Canadian satellite operator Telesat will invest CA$1.6 billion into Québec by moving a “significant portion” of Lightspeed manufacturing and operations to the Canadian province, according to the terms of the MoU agreement announced February 18.
Telesat’s new Québec-based Lightspeed production and operations facilities will include: a Network Operating Center; a Satellite Control Center; a Cybersecurity Operations Center; an Engineering Lab; and an advanced landing station providing secure communication links to the constellation.
