In an effort to provide better roads to commuters, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to deploy network survey vehicle (NSV) to supervise and help maintain the quality of National Highways.
Carrying out a road condition survey using NSV on the National Highways has been made mandatory at the time of certifying completion of the project and every six months thereafter. The provision has also been included as a part of the standard bidding document of consultancy services.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Tuesday said it has made deployment of Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) mandatory to ensure better quality of roads. NSV uses high resolution camera to capture images of highways and has several other features. In line with its commitment to provide better roads to commuters, NHAI has decided to deploy Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) to enhance quality of the National Highways. The survey will also provide data insights relating road furniture and side drains.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) announced the mandatory use of the Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) in order to maintain and enhance the quality of national highways. According to a recent statement released by the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways, the national survey vehicle will be deployed to carry out the road condition survey. The statement added that the survey using NSV on national highways is now compulsory at the time of the certifying completion of the project and every six months thereafter.
