LSU Health Shreveport has received a $100,000 gift from Campus Federal Credit Union to support the design and construction of the future Center for Medical Education and Wellness and Center for Emerging Viral Threats. LSU Health Shreveport’s Chancellor Dr. G.E. Ghali received this gift at a check presentation attended by Campus Federal President and CEO Jane Verret and Chief Development Officer Ron Moreau.
Campus Federal Credit Union has been a long-time supporter of Louisiana State University’s campuses throughout the state and has supported numerous LSU Health Shreveport events and initiatives, including An Evening for Healers, Feist-Weiller Cancer Center’s Life Savers fundraiser, Employee Excellence Awards, and Camp Tiger. SHREVEPORT, La. With the announcement that beginning Monday eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine expands to a different age bracket, LSU Health Shreveportâs Center of Excellence for Emerging Viral Threats has added four new locations for COVID-19 vaccinations in addition to its drive-thru site in Shreveport
Those eligible to receive the vaccinations can do so in one day only next week in Arcadia, Mansfield, Natchitoches and Minden. More dates have been added for Shreveport, too.
Eligibility for Louisiana residents has dropped to include ages 65 and older.Â
Some Unified Command Group members, state COVID emergency response personnel, local emergency response personnel, law enforcement, first responders and elections workers for the upcoming March and April elections will also be eligible, according to Gov. John Bel Edwards on Thursday. LSU Health s news release on Friday does not address those groups.Â

NORTHWEST LOUISIANA (KSLA) - LSU Health Shreveportâs Center of Excellence for Emerging Viral Threats announced added new dates, locations for upcoming community COVID-19 vaccinations.
As of Monday, Feb. 8, residents age 65 and over will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Those age 65 to 69 will receive an email with an appointment in the order their preregistrations were received. Those under age 65 may also preregister. Anyone who preregisters will receive an appointment time via email once they meet the Louisiana Department of Health criteria to receive the vaccine.
