McALLEN, Texas – Two men have been ordered to federal prison for decades following their more than a dozen convictions of drug crimes, carjacking, robbery and firearms offenses, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery along with Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs of the FBI - San Antonio Division and Special Agent in Charge Daniel C. Comeaux of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
A McAllen jury deliberated for five hours before convicting Mexican citizen Marin Macrin Cerda aka Filtro, 34, and Jose Miguel Montemayor aka El Mickey, 30, Mission, Sept. 6, 2019, following a seven-day trial.

A Fairfield mother is behind bars, accused in the death of her young son more than two years ago.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force took 25-year-old Maya Nacole Freeman into custody Friday afternoon. She was arrested at 3 p.m. in the 4600 block of Pinson Valley Parkway. She also uses the aliaa Tia Nacole Freeman which is actually a relative’s name.
Freeman is charged with manslaughter and aggravated child abuse. The charges stem from grand jury indictments issued in December out of the Bessemer Cutoff.

Lemond Lawerance Burns, 21, was arrested Wednesday in Vestavia Hills and charged with capital murder.
Police say he shot and killed Alabama A&M student Dallis Patrick Ryan Wolfe, 22, on Monday as part of an ongoing dispute. (Read more HERE)

Bond was set at $1 million for a Dayton, Ohio man arrested last week in Alabama who was wanted in the November shooting death of his wife while their three children were home.
Tremayne Lee Burdine, 38, was arraigned Friday in Dayton Municipal Court for two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence in the Nov. 14, 2020, death of 30-year-old Tenisha Burdine.
Police were notified of the shooting after Tremayne Burdine dropped off his children at a relative’s home in Harrison Twp. The children were crying and said their father shot their mother, a woman said in a 911 call.
