There are fifteen new cases of the coronavirus being reported within the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
Officials indicated Wednesday that a case has been identified as a possible variant of COVID-19.
With sixteen cases resolved the active case count stands at 148:
Six cases obtained through someone else who had the virus
Three cases picked up outside of the home
Five cases have no known exposure
One case cause is pending
In Ontario there are 3,215 new cases to go along with 17 deaths.

Another decrease in the number of daily cases of coronavirus within the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
Just a single case of COVID-19 with the case cause pending.
Officials also report fifteen resolved cases, which means the active case count now sits at 149.
In Ontario Tuesday there were 3,065 new infections reported along with eight deaths.
Current Outbreaks
However officials report the 54th death of the pandemic due to coronavirus.
Just nine new cases reported on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday:
Two people got the virus while at home from someone else
Three others got it from outside the house
One case has no known exposure
Three cases are still waiting for results of how they got it
In Ontario a combined 5,979 cases over the last two days along with 22 deaths.
Current Outbreaks
The Walford Retirement Home and one area of Hogarth Riverview Manor are getting the all-clear.
The Health Unit is declaring COVID-19 outbreaks over at the Walford and the fifth floor of Hogarth Riverview.
It says that they both had significant measures already in place to help stop the virus from spreading, including taking part in the vaccine rollout.
