These priorities include public safety and criminal justice reform, tribal treaty rights, and protecting consumers. With respect to the last priority on consumer protection, Attorney General Ferguson is supporting two bills in the Washington legislature: Price Gouging – SB 5191. Currently Washington does not have a specific law prohibiting price gouging during a state of emergency. Attorney General Ferguson would like to change that. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the attorney general’s office received more than 1,300 complaints regarding excessive price increases on essential items like face masks or hand sanitizer. (AP Photo/Elaine Thompson) Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson and the state’s Congressional Republicans find themselves on opposite sides of a lawsuit seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Texas, levying unsubstantiated accusations of voter fraud in Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to invalidate a combined 62 electoral votes that went to President-elect Joe Biden. Republican attorneys general in 17 states filed motions supporting the lawsuit, joined by 106 Congressional Republicans in a Thursday court filing. That includes Washington Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Dan Newhouse. Notably absent from Thursday’s filing was Rep.
